Mountains in summer, sea in winter—and enough physical space for inner noise to recede.

Across Taizhou, Xianju, Yandang Mountain, and the coast at Wenling, Alicia noticed how larger physical spaces change the pressure of thought. Mountains belong to summer, the sea to winter; a small difference in temperature can alter the entire comfort of a journey.

Yet place was never the only measure. Who shares the road and the table matters more than the itinerary. Alicia writes in pairs that resist choosing sides: she likes leaving and returning, discipline and indulgence, meeting and parting. The ochre arch frames that philosophy—a threshold rather than an endpoint.

Go far enough for the noise to lose its scale.
